At the time I (Margarette Patrick) left the YMCA, I was faced with the challenge that thousands of Americans are currently facing; what now? I applied for various job openings, volunteered for my favorite organizations, and I did some consulting work. Women in our community approached me with dilemmas they were facing in the job market. As a researcher, they asked me to locate reputable work at home businesses. Most were scams.

Then I attended a workshop in Dyersburg, “Making Your Business a Destination”. This workshop opened the eyes of my mind to the needs of the small business community. As I considered the job market and the fact that several small businesses have closed their doors, I began to have a vision. I shared my vision with my current business partner, Aleshia Owens. We researched tools and services that would assist the small business owner during any economy.

 

The need for affordable effective small business Web Design was at the top of the list. Thus, “IDesign” was born. The second was to provide resources to assist small businesses with the challenges they face. To address these challenges, we created and attached a “Business Link” resource page to our Web Site. These links can provide solutions to the complex questions of small business owners. (Developing a strategic business plan)The last was staffing issues that a small business only needs occasionally. Through our business out-sourcing services we can link the small business community with experienced professional workers for projects that they could not otherwise staff.

Over the last fifteen years I worked passionately lobbying, building, and supervising a successful community YMCA.  I worked to re-establish and charter a community Rotary club, as well as serving as an ambassador for our community Chamber of Commerce. I have served on the Chamber Board of Directors, chairing both as Treasurer and  Vice-Chair.

I have successfully managed marketing operations for a large community YMCA. I served personally and professionally promoting both the YMCA and the community. I have been an ambassador promotion community business for over ten years. My passion is developing the youth of tomorrow; working with our community Board of Education promoting right choices and leadership development.
